POSITION OVERVIEW
The Social Media Assistant is responsible for creating social media content, as well as helping build a community through IGNITE’s existing social media profiles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
- Create social media content meant to inform and engage the student body through Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and TikTok
- Post on social media all newsworthy IGNITE initiatives happening on campus
- Keep up to date with social media news and trends
- Create and post live content from IGNITE’s events
- Ensure standards are met for the IGNITE Style guidelines
- Compile and report analytics

- Ability to think strategically, formulate and execute plans to meet organizational goals
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills; conflict management
- Superb ability to manage time and stay organized
- Ability to work both independently and as a team
- A successful track record working in a high-volume environment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must either be a current Humber College or the University of Guelph-Humber fee paying student at the time of application and for the duration of your employment.
- Web writing experience an asset
- Social media and content creation experience an asset
- Minimum 1-year social media experience, 2-3 samples required at application
- Experience with Canva and video editing apps like CapCut or InShot
- Must be comfortable appearing on camera and on social media platforms
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop an asset

- Film live coverage of Brand Ambassador promotions
