In this newly created role, the Coordinator, Marketing will play an integral part in supporting IGNITE’s creative vision by contributing to the execution of innovative, brand-aligned written content across print and digital platforms.

Working closely with the Sr. Manager, PR and Communications, the Coordinator provides operational, creative, and administrative support for the development of marketing-related communication materials. The Coordinator oversees a part-time team of student staff and is responsible for ensuring a high standard of copywriting excellence and consistency across IGNITE’s communications. This role will also support project management, data insights, and quality control to ensure an exceptional student experience from a content and engagement standpoint.
 
What you can expect in a Coordinator, Marketing Role at IGNITE: 

Marketing Communications
·      Responsible for copywriting of IGNITE marketing assets (brochures, internal communications newsletter, Impact Report)
·      Manage and oversee editing of articles, email copy, website content, event listings, video captions and graphic copywriting, Board of Directors meeting updates
·      Oversight of the Humber/University of Guelph-Humber channels for marketing communications-related material (newsletters, webpages, mailing content, tour scripts)
·      Support the Sr. Manager, PR and Communications with the production of the IGNITE Impact Report
·      Support the creation of experiential marketing designs with content to engage students through campaigns and campus events.
 
Project Coordination & Calendar Management
·      Responsible for the planning and maintenance of the annual email communication calendar and execution of targeted email communication campaigns.
·      Support the Sr. Manager and act as project lead when necessary for marketing-related projects and initiatives
·      Maintain and manage project timelines, assign staff and ensure deadline adherence
·      Liaise with colleagues to coordinate logistics for marketing deliverables.
 
Administrative & Operational Support
·      Provide administrative support to the Sr. Manager, PR & Communications on tasks related to project intake, training, team operations, and vendor coordination.
·      Support reporting and insights by evaluating marketing effectiveness using student feedback and survey data.
·      Track resource allocation and usage across various projects.
 
Team Leadership & Student Supervision
·      Provide technical guidance and supervision to the part-time student Managing Editor, Content Writers and Email Marketing Assistant; responsible for scheduling, confirming hours for payroll and day-to-day performance management
·      Provide direction and quality checks for student deliverables
·      Support training and onboarding of new student staff
 
Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication
·      Work closely with the Creative Design team and other departments to execute written elements aligned with campaign goals.
·      Support internal clients with marketing requests and provide updates on deliverables.
·      Participate in creative brainstorms and contribute to brand evolution discussions.
 
What IGNITE will expect from you:
·      Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related program
·      Minimum 1-2 year of experience in Marketing communications or related field.
·      Demonstrated ability to create and curate engaging content on social media, web, and email
·      Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
·      Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills
·      A strong collaborator, leveraging interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels of the organization
·      Initiative and accountability for planned and unplanned tasks or events
·      Sound leadership, staff supervision, and team-building skills.
·      Adaptable with a commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement and innovation
·      Ability to manage and co-ordinate the end-to-end development process while meeting deadlines and budget requirements
·      Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines

Compensation

$50,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
