As the Manager, People & Culture, you play a crucial role in shaping our organizational culture and ensuring that our HR practices align with legal requirements. Reporting directly to the Director, Human Resources, you will oversee various aspects, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. This role extends to responsibilities related to compensation, benefits administration, payroll, and workforce planning. By fostering a positive workplace culture, you will contribute to the achievement of business goals through effective HR strategies and initiatives.

What you can expect in a Manager, People & Culture Role at IGNITE: 
 Employee Relations & Communication
  •  Promote a positive workplace culture, address employee questions and concerns, and investigate complaints.
  • Integrate approaches to facilitate equity, diversity, and inclusion into recruitment, training, and workplace culture.
  • Identify and analyze employee relations issues, recommending appropriate actions for optimal performance.
  • Lead culture-building initiatives and programs, including team-building events and recognition programs.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with other managers, serving as a valued HR advisor.
  • Keep the employee handbook up-to-date and communicate policies and procedures.
 Talent Acquisition & Management
  •  Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and hire qualified candidates.
  • Oversees the entire recruitment process, from job postings to onboarding, for non-senior management positions.
  • Collaborate with hiring manager to understand staffing needs and ensure timely filling of open positions.
  • Execute annual job fairs and IGNITE hiring day to support hiring needs.
  • Develop and implement an effective employee onboarding process for seamless transitions.
  • Address workplace issues, facilitate conflict resolution, and manage employee exits.
  • Oversee part-time employee recruitment, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Accurately process payroll, ensuring correct and timely payments for part-time employees.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental insurance and retirement plan.
Training & Development
  • Identify training needs and coordinate the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Implement strategies to enhance skills and capabilities of the workforce.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in employee development.
 
HR Metrics & Reporting
  • Generate regular reports on HR metrics, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Oversee general administrative duties, record-keeping, document management, and employee file maintenance.
  • Manage the HRIS system, update documentation, and collaborate with Humber’s Payroll for successful onboarding.
  • Develop and implement strategies for effective management of part-time employee.
  • Manage the Human Resources budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

What IGNITE will expect from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of Four (4) years progressive HR experience.
  • Proven experience in HR management roles, with a focus on employee relations, talent acquisition, and compensation.
  • HR Certification (CHRP, CHRL,SHRM)
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous payroll experience an asset

Compensation

$68,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
